Masahiro Aozono
Masahiro Aozono (青園 雅紘 Aozono Masahiro, born September 26, 1944) is a Japanese business executive and the former managing director of Nomura Securities, the former managing director of Nomura Securities Investment Trust Management Co., Ltd. (later, Nomura Asset Management Co.,Ltd.) and the representative director & president of CSK Corporation (later, SCSK).
Career
Masahiro Aozono was born in Fukui Prefecture in 1944.[1] In 1967, he graduated from Shiga University and joined Nomura Securities.[1][2][3][4] After being appointed director of Nomura Securities in 1987,[2] he became managing director of Nomura Securities Investment Trust Management Co., Ltd. (later, Nomura Asset Management Co.,Ltd.) in 1989 and of Nomura Securities in 1991.[1][2]
In 1995, he was invited to CSK Corporation (later, SCSK) as the vice president by Isao Okawa who became acquainted with Aozono when he was the manager of Shinjuku Nomura Building Branch of Nomura Securities, located near the former headquarters of CSK Corporation, and had his eye on Aozono's strong-nerved character.[2] In 2000, Aozono assumed the position of the representative director & president and thereafter the representative director & chairman of the board of directors of CSK Corporation.[2][5][6] Later he also served as the representative director & president of Cosmo Securities.[6]
Aozono could not maintain centripetal force in CSK Corporation while Isao Okawa could because Okawa founded CSK.[2] After the death of Isao Okawa in 2001, the power struggle became serious. The real estate securitization business ran a huge deficit in 2009, which resulted in Aozono's resignation.[2]
Aozono later became the home ambassador of Fukui Prefecture.[5]
