Maserati Rick Jr. (born Richard Earl Carter Jr. on September 18, 1986) is an American rapper from Detroit, Michigan.
Carter was born into a family with a notorious reputation in Detroit. His father, Maserati Rick, was a well-known figure in the city's drug trade[1] and his mother, Tracy Cowan, was later sentenced to a lengthy prison term[2]. Despite growing up without a father figure, Carter Jr. was determined to break the cycle of his family's past and make a name for himself. He chose to pursue a career in the music industry and became a rapper, adopting the moniker "Maserati Rick Jr." along the way. Although Carter Jr. shares his father's renowned street name and has inherited some of his credibility, he is establishing his own legacy through his distinctive style of rap. His brother Kevin Carter was a significant influence, inspiring him to pursue his talents seriously. Despite the challenges he has faced, he used his anger and frustration as motivation to carve out his own path while reviving the legacy of his father.[3]
