Mashal Books (مشعل بکس) is a Pakistani non-profit publishing house, which was established in 1988 in Lahore. Its goal has since been translating fiction and non-fiction from literatures all over the world into Urdu, and has made a name as one of the most prolific publishers of Urdu-language translations in South Asia.[1][2] Mashal Books is a registered non-profit; it translates into Urdu writings with cultural significance from East Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.[1] The publisher also organizes educational and cultural activities on science, art, human rights, education, environment, philosophy, and other contemporary issues.[3][1][4][5][6][7]
