Alessandro Vanetti (born November 30, 1992), known professionally as Massimo Pericolo (sometimes stylized as MASSIMO PERICOLO), is an Italian songwriter, producer and rapper.[1][2][3]

Early life[edit]

Vanetti was born in Gallarate in northern Italy. He first developed an interest in rap music at the age of 8 and started writing his own songs soon after.[1] In 2014, Vanetti was arrested with 28 others, and during his arrest, he first adopted his professional alias "Massimo Pericolo", which translates literally as "Maximum Danger".[1] Two years later, he published his first music video on YouTube, which has since amassed over 870,000 views.[4]

Music[edit]

Vanetti achieved national recognition in Italy as well as considerable attention from outside of Italy with his song 7 MILIARDI, which has generated almost 8.7 million views on YouTube. 7 MILIARDI's lyrics are centered around Vanetti's youth in Gallarate and Brebbia. The song has been called a "raw and bitter protest anthem" against the economic conditions in which many Italians grow up; like another of his songs, Sabbie D'Oro, the lyrics directly refer to financial difficulty and hardship during the early years of his life. 7 MILIARDI has achieved particular success in Vanetti's home province, Varese, in part due to his mentions of specific places in the area.

Vanetti started his career with small concerts in the urban area of Varese. He launched an Italian tour in November 2019 which was scheduled to continue through December 2019.[5]
