Dragon Boat 200M Senior/Master Fastest Times: Continental Championships - Europe[info 1]

Continental Championships - Europe[info 2]

Continent of Europe

Europe is the second largest continental region in the world for the sport of Dragon Boat.[1] With the introduction of the sport on an international level beginning in Hong Kong in 1976,[2] Europe became the second major staging point for the spread of Dragon Boat throughout the world. The European Dragon Boat Federation (EDBF) was established in 1990, preceding the development of the International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) in 1991, and the Asian Dragon Boat Federation (ADBF) in 1992.[3] Dragon Boat sport is further represented under the European Canoe Association[4][circular reference] (ECA), and both organizations host World Nations and Club Crew Championships bi-annually. With the EDBA including 23 member nations federations[5] and the ECA governing multiple paddle sport diciplines in 44 countries[6][circular reference], the sport now has active or potential representation in every major European nation. The total population of European Dragon Boat athletes is approximately 300,000 as of 2010.[7]

This article details the fastest Dragon Boat 200 Meter Senior/Master times within the European continental region, and includes all major competitions in which a legitimate world record time may be produced.
