Matt King is a Canadian producer and president at LaRue Entertainment, a Toronto based film, TV and digital media company.[1]

King is an award-winning producer, born and raised in Toronto. He started working at CHUM Limited with Muchmusic and Star! and also spent time at TheScore Inc.. Before starting his own production company he worked on a number of different comedy shows: Kenny vs. Spenny, The Morgan Waters Show[2] and Freak Encounters. King also worked at Entertainment One for a while.

In 2011 King, along with his partner Andrew Ferguson, created his own production company called LaRue Entertainment,[3] named in honour of his childhood hero John Candy.

At LaRue King has produced a number of award-winning shows and short films, including The Amazing Gayl Pile, She Stoops to Conquer - that premiered at TIFF in 2015 won a Canadian Screen Award in 2016[4] - and I Thought I Told You To Shut Up!!.

He is also behind the feature film Filth City, currently in post-production.[5]

King is also an executive producer on the film Dim the Fluorescents[6] which is currently in post-production.
