Matthew J. Parker

Matthew James Parker (1963-March 17, 2017) was an American meteorologist. He was born in East Cleveland, Ohio and attended North Carolina State University (NCSU), completing both his bachelor's and master's degrees, and worked as a meteorologist at the Savannah River National Laboratory in 1989 for almost 28 years. He was married for 23 years to Shawntel Parker.

He was named a fellow to the American Meteorological Society (AMS) in 2006, and was sworn in as president of the AMS in January 2017.[1]

Matt Parker died on March 17, 2017[2]
