Ryan Vaughan (born Samuel Ryan Vaughan; April 1978) is an American meteorologist.[1] He is currently employed at KAIT as Chief Meteorologist. Vaughan was born in Nashville, Tennessee and attended college at Western Kentucky University. Vaughan relocated to Montgomery, Alabama in 2002; however, he moved back to Jonesboro, Arkansas in 2005 to raise his family.[1]
Career[edit]
In addition to meteorology for WSFA and KAIT, Vaughan has worked as a weather observer for the Federal Aviation Administration. Vaughan was also a plumber[1] and is a member of the American Meteorological Society.[2] Vaughan also writes for the Daily Mirror, a British national tabloid newspaper.[3]
March 2020 tornado[edit]
Ryan Vaughan potentially saved multiple lives when he predicted an EF3 tornado days in advance, known as the March 2020 tornado.[4]
Awards[edit]
Vaughan holds three awards: National Weather Association Seal of Approval, the National Weather Association 2016 Broadcaster of the Year[1] and an Emmy.[3]

Vaughan holds a B.S. in Geography/Meteorology and a minor in Broadcast News from Western Kentucky University.[1]
Personal life[edit]
Vaughan has a wife, two daughters and two sons.[1] Vaughan is a Christian and a Tennessee Titans fan.[5]
