Matthew Joynes (born November 06, 1967) is a British entrepreneur, film producer, and founder of CDAX.

Joynes is also the founder of SC Films, a British film distribution and sales company, Gamevice, a mobile accessories company, and CDAX, a financial technology company.

Early life and education  [edit]

Joynes was born on November 06, 1967. He received his bachelor of science degree in economics from the University of Plymouth in 1988. Later, Joynes completed his master's in politics, philosophy, and economics degree from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in 1990. Pursuing higher studies, he graduated from City, University of London, with a law degree in 1994 and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in the same year. Since then, he has also been a member of the Inner Temple.[1]

Career[edit]

Joynes began his professional career by training at 1 Crown Office Row as a supreme court and privy council lawyer. While practicing technology, media, and telecoms, he worked with several clients, including BBC, BP, and UBS.

Media distribution companies[edit]

Joynes established an animation distribution and theatrical business company, SC Films International Limited, in the United Kingdom in 2007. On behalf of the UK Government Department of Trade and Industry, SC Films represents UK’s film export industry. In collaboration with Simon Crowe and Michael Chapman, Joynes founded a UK and Ireland media distribution company called Blue Finch Films in September 2007.[2][3][4][5]

Joynes founded Gamevice, formerly Wikipad, a mobile gaming products company with Brendan Iribe in 2010.[6][7][8]

In 2018, Joynes established a financial technology company, Central Digital Asset Exchange (CDAX).

OCR & Parkour[edit]

Joynes is the secretary-general of World Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) and Parkour, an Olympic-level discipline popularized by events like American Ninja Warrior, Spartan Race, and Tough Mudder.[9]
