Maulik Buch: Born on June 3, 1979, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, he started his career as a journalist in 1999 while he was studying in S.Y. Bcom at the M.S. University of Baroda. He joined Gujarat Samachar at Vadodara as a Trainee reporter. A throughout English Medium student suddenly working with a top Gujarati Newspaper, was challenging for him, but he accepted the challenge and started learning journalistic Gujarati writing and soon he started writing proficient News and Analysis articles in Gujarati. By the time he finished his graduation in commerce and joined the Masters of Communication Studies to learn the skills of Journalism. He passed out of his masters in 2003 and joined the Dainik Bhaskar Group's Divya Bhaskar, which was on the verge of launching in Gujarati language from Ahmedabad. He played a pivotal role in launching the newspaper and covered many critical news events at Ahmedabad. Soon after the launch, he quit the job and joined ETV Gujarati as a video journalist, as it was his real passion to cover the news in television channels. As a journalist, he covered various critical events, such as riots, the assassination of Haren Pandya, and did human stories to which some of the stories created a major impact even on government. But somewhere he was not satisfied as television didn't quench his thirst for covering detailed stories as compared to Print journalism. He shifted back to Vadodara, his hometown, and again joined Gujarat Samachar. After working for about 3 years, he joined DNA (Daily News and Analysis) as bureau chief of Central Gujarat. He covered many stories on all subjects, out of which his story Heart Broken Homai Vyarawala says NO to NANO[1], made a huge impact and TATA officials visited the veteran photo journalist and requested her to accept the NANO car.
