Mayumi Yoshida (吉田 真弓, Yoshida Mayumi, born August 26, 1982) is an actress, director, and screenwriter from Yokohama, Japan. Among her acting roles, she is best known for playing Crown Princess Michiko in Amazon's The Man in the High Castle. She has also produced several short films, including Tokyo Lovers, which won awards at several independent film festivals.[1]

Early life and career[edit]

Born in Japan, Yoshida's father was a journalist with a Japanese newspaper. As a result, the family moved frequently, and Yoshida lived in Brussels and Washington, D.C., among other places. She began her career in Japan as a stage actress, featuring in more than 20 stage performances.[2]

She settled in Vancouver in 2010 to pursue an acting career in North America.[1]
