Mayurjhalia is the second largest populated village in eastern Odisha, India. It has a mixed, rich culture mainly consisting of Hindus with Hindus making up a majority. Ardent nationalists

Geographical location[edit]

Mayurjhalia is located in the Nayagarh district of Odisha, India. It is connected by a 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) section of NH-16 to New Jagannath Road. It is 65 kilometres (40 mi) from the state capital Bhubaneswar and 60 kilometres (37 mi) from Puri. Road transport is the only mode of transportation to this village.

Education[edit]

Being situated in a rural area, schools in Mayurjhalia are run by the government. Most of the teachers are natives. Mayurjhalia has one co-educational high school and one girls' high school. A new college was establishe in 1987 for higher secondary education and provides intermediate-level courses in the arts. There is also a private school named Ramesh Chandra Panda Interegal Education Centre.
