McMiller Entertainment LLC is a game manufacturer with headquarters in Los Angeles, California. The company was founded by David McGranaghan and Julian Miller in 2010 (the company name is a portmanteau of their surnames).[1] It is best known for specialising in party games and board games that 'give you permission to be your silliest self’.[2] Their game UpRoar! won the silver award for Best Board Game for aged 8+ in the MadeForMums Toy Awards 2021 and won a Dad’s Choice Award in 2021.[3] [4]
Both McGranaghan and Miller are actors; respectively, they have had success in West End theatre (Jersey Boys) and Hollywood (Spy (2015 film)).[5] [6] Their experience on stage, and creating games for their drama students and families, led to the creation of their first game - Game for Fame.[7] Game for Fame ranked in Amazon's top 5 best selling board games over Christmas 2015-2018.[8] They have since made three more games, including Santa vs Jesus.[9] It was crowdfunded on Kickstarter and courted some controversy, with some critics calling it ‘blasphemous’.[10]
