Gilberto Ronald Duarte Frutos (Born September 3, 1993), known professionally as Me The Machine is a Mexican, singer, songwriter and actor from Mexico City. In 1997 as an actor (as Ronald Duarte) he was a part of the Mexican melodrama Amada enemiga but he began to gain recognition in 2000 thanks to the widely successful Mexican telenovela Amigos X Siempre. In 2004 he was a part of the cast of the worldwide phenomenon Mexican teen drama Rebelde (Mexican TV series) which became one of the most successful Latin American TV-series in the world, he was also part of the cast for the Rebelde (Mexican TV series) spin-off show RBD: La familia.[1]

With the intent on pursuing a career as a musician he put acting on hold in 2009 following the creation of the Rock band Suit where he was the frontman, shortly after the band was created they got signed by Warner Music Latina and they went on to tour with Motel (band). The same year he worked as a songwriter for the American band Family Force 5. In 2012 Suit opened for The Used and Yellowcard making those the last shows he performed as a part of the band before parting ways because of creative differences with the other band members. In 2017 he adopted the stage name Me The Machine and released his first solo single Mistakes that went to sold over 3000 downloads on iTunes.

Gilberto Ronald Duarte Frutos was born on September 03, 1993 Mexico City, Mexico to Mexican parents. He has 3 older sisters.

Acting career[edit]

Duarte began his career on a Mexican telenovela called Amada enemiga when he was 4 years old. In 2000, Duarte was casted as Rafael "El Canicas" on Amigos X Siempre alongside Belinda and Christopher von Uckermann. The kids-oriented soap opera was one of the highest-rated in its time-slot during its run.

He starred in Rebelde in 2004, a Mexican remake of the hit Argentine telenovela, Rebelde Way.On Rebelde, Duarte portrayed "Jack Lizaldi" a goofy student with a compulsive obsession with women. 'Rebelde was an international hit and had over 440 episodes, airing from 2004 to 2006.

Following the success of Rebelde, in 2007, Televisa released RBD: La familia, which starred the members of RBD. The sitcom was based on the fictional lives of the members of RBD. The characters of the sitcom were not based on the band's characters in Rebelde, but were instead intended to be similar to the actors' real personalities. RBD: La Familia was the first Mexican show shot entirely in HDTV. The show ran from March 14, 2007 to June 13, 2007, lasting 13 episodes. In 2009 Duarte decided to retire acting to focus on music.[2]

Music career[edit]

In 2009, at the age of 17, he became the frontman of the band "Suit" in Mexico City they eventually signed a record deal with Warner Music Latina. In the band's short life they performed alongside bands such as Motel (band), The Used and Yellowcard, The band dismantled in 2012 after the record label didn't deliver what they had promised for the band's development. That same year Duarte also worked as a song writer for the American band Family Force 5

In 2012 Duarte moved to Los Angeles, California where he met American record producer Mark Batson who helped him start rebranding himself as a musician.

In 2017 Duarte adopted the stage name Me The Machine and released his first ever solo single Mistakes Produced by Ky Almighty and written by Me The Machine. To this date the single sold over 3000 downloads on iTunes. One year later in 2018 he released his second single Virus produced by Ky Almighty and written by Me The Machine it contains a sample from This Is the New Shit a song by American artist Marilyn Manson. The video for Virus was shot in December 2018.

Me The Machine's first full length album Uneducated is scheduled to release on March 2019 and it contains contributions by Marty Baller, The Ready Set amongst others.
