Medable is a health-tech company that provides access to clinical trials through a decentralized trial platform. It was founded in 2012 by Dr. Michelle Longmire, Tim Smith, Perry Robinson, and James Sas.[1] The company operates in both the U.S. and Europe, and was founded to grant patients access to global clinical trials .[2]

Medable offers a decentralized clinical trial (DCT) platform that has supported over 150 clinical trials with more than 1 million participants across 41 countries. The company has continually expanded its services and partnerships, securing significant funding and launching new products like TeleVisit and TOGETHERCare. Medable has also formed collaborations with companies such as Datavant, Alivecor, Seqster, Syneos Health, Aural Analytics, Vault Health, Cognizant, and Withings. In 2021, the company opened its EMEA headquarters in Dublin and, in 2022, acquired mobile applications from LEO Pharma.

Medable offers access to global clinical trials through a decentralized clinical trial (DCT) platform launched in 2015.[3] This platform has supported over 150 clinical trials with more than 1 million participants across 41 countries and over 60 languages, including those related to COVID-19.[4]

Founding[edit]

  • 2019 - Medable developed its Patient Advisory Council and launched TeleVisit. The company presented at the Digital Medicine and MedTech Showcase.[5]
  • 2020 - Medable reached its 100th clinical study and launched its COVID-19 trial mitigation services. The company secured $25 million and $91 million in funding to improve its DCT platform and accelerate the development of new product offerings, respectively.[6]
  • 2021 - Medable rolled out the Medable Academy enablement program and launched a mobile app (TOGETHERCare) to reduce cancer care partner burden.[7] The company was named a leader in decentralized clinical trial products assessment by Everest Group and formed a new Site Network Council to inform its product and service development.[8]
