Mohamed Ismail Mohamed (Arabic: محمد اسماعيل محمد,[1][not in citation given] known as Medo Ismail) is an Egyptian digital artist who came to prominence as the designer of the album #EgyptRejoices.[clarification needed]
Life and work[edit]
Ismail was born and grew up in Cairo, Egypt; his parents are both Egyptian.[1] Mohamed lives in Egypt and studies information systems at New Cairo academy. He has stated he plans to develop a career in information system with his artistic endeavors.[1]
Mohamed Ismail has been an artist since the age of 15, stating that he is "self-taught and... learned from YouTube and many other websites. Eldin displays and sells his work through two online platforms: the site network Behance and the social network site Facebook.[4]
Personal life[edit]
Ismail gained fame as the creator of a series of images mocking Egypt's "#EgyptRejoices" campaign, wherein the Egyptian government sought to instill national pride in the opening of the New Suez Canal. Instead, Ismail created a series of images demonstrating Egypt's social ills, including child homelessness, poverty, illiteracy and sexual harassment of women.[1]
