Medovnik Honey Cake
Medovnik / med’-ov-neek / is a Bohemian dessert that has been enjoyed for centuries. The taste and texture have
made this cake a famous delicacy in Eastern Europe that is now being savored around the world. Medovnik is a playful
Czech word derived from the word 'med' meaning 'honey', but has not a direct translation into English. In English, it is
often called 'Honey Cake'.
"Six thin honey layers are baked to a golden color, stacked and filled with a cream, and covered with honey crumbs
and walnuts. With love and dedication, one cake takes three hours to make."
MEDOVNIK L.L.C. is the first USA operated bakery with a Czech owner, that specializes in the handmade production
of Medovnik Honey Cake.
