Merle "Mel" Wasserman (1930 – April 29, 2002)[1] was a businessman, entrepreneur, and founder of CEDU Education. He was a pioneer in the unaccredited Therapeutic Boarding School industry. Over the course of many years, he opened a total of six therapeutic boarding schools in the states of California and Idaho.
Paris Hilton kicks off the section of her memoir about entering the troubled teen industry at CEDU School with a tale about Mel Wasserman.[2]
