Sara Hicks is an American entrepreneur and information technology executive, currently serving as the co-founder and CEO of Reaction Commerce. Hicks has been described as an inspirational entrepreneur and tech CEO.[1]
Early life and education[edit]
Sara graduated from UCLA with a degree in social psychology.[2]
Career[edit]
Hicks has been a fixture in the technology industry since it's rise began. In the late 90's she was a senior community coordinator GeoCities. In the early 2000's she worked as a product manager at Yahoo!, and a senior director of product and operations at Citysearch.
Hicks ascent to tech leadership began as a vice president of product development at Etsy.[3] She left Etsy to become the vice president product at hosting giant Media Temple.[4] She then joined Uncovet as chief executive officer.
Hicks left Uncovet in 2013 to found Ongo Works and it's flagship product Reaction Commerce with co-founder Aaron Singmaster-Judd. In 2016 Hicks and Singmaster-Judd raised a $2.7MM seed round of funding from CrossCut Ventures, Double M Partners, Female Founders Fund and Joanne Wilson.[5] In 2017 the pair raised an additional $8.5MM in a series A round of funding from Alphabet's GV, CrossCut Ventures, Double M Partners, Female Founders Fund and Joanne Wilson. to launch Reaction Commerce.[6] [7] [8] [9] [10]
