Melbourne Shakespeare Company
Melbourne Shakespeare Company is an Australian theatre company specializing in the works of William Shakespeare. It was founded in 2016 by Jennifer Sarah Dean and is based in Melbourne, Australia.
Melbourne Shakespeare Company is an independent theatre Company focusing solely on open air Shakespearean productions. Their 2016 season consisted of A Midsummer Night's Dream[1] and The Tempest[2]. In 2017 they will produce The Comedy of Errors[3] and Much Ado About Nothing [4].
Melbourne Shakespeare Company uses contemporary styling in their set and costumes and incorporates live music performed by the cast. Their productions are family friendly and focus on clear story telling, bold physicality and emphasize the comedic moments within the original texts.[5]
Melbourne Shakespeare Company also produce Shakespeare Unwrapped a series of filmed sonnets which have been screened across Melbourne and are available on Youtube for educations purposes. [6]
