Melissa Monet (born July 16, 1964)[2] is an American pornographic actress,[1] writer and film director.[3]
Monet was born in Staten Island, New York City.[2] to an Italian Catholic father and a German orthodox Jewish mother.[4]After high school she worked as an accountant before becoming a sex worker, where she worked as a sexual surrogate, escort and madame.[4][5]
Monet entered the adult film world in 1994 at the age of 30.[6] After a 12 year hiatus from performing in front of the camera, she returned, performing mainly in MILF themed productions.[7]
Monet has also appeared in the porn-related documentaries Rated X: A Journey Through Porn[8] and Pornstar Pets.[9] She has directed 19 hardcore titles[10] for the Spice channel and CD-ROMS[4] and has directed softcore cable movies for Roger Corman's production company Click Productions.[11]
Monet cites John Leslie as one of her influences. She is also an avid fan of the work of Orson Welles and Alfred Hitchcock.[6]
