Mercy George-Igbafe[1], a Nigerian national, born on the 3rd December 1974[2] in Lagos into the family of late Mr. Friday Wilson Ekpo and Mrs. Rosemary Effiong Eyo. She is the founder of LEARNTOR[3], a company that develop tech talent for Africa to mitigate.[4]
Early Life[edit]
Mercy George-Igbafe is originally from Akwa Ibom State, located in the South-South region of the country. She was born and bred in Lagos State.[5] She got her first job in 1990 as a receptionist whilst in Secondary School, amidst surviving rape. And despite the hardship, she was determined to be educated as she understand the value of education. She completed her B.Sc in Business Administration from the University of Lagos, Akoka.[6] After school, she was employed by Ecobank Nigeria. And in 2000, where she developed interest in Tech. She started with Microsoft office, which earned her a promotion and redeployment to ICT department working on Windows Application and Globus Temenos banking.[7]
Educational background[edit]
Mercy George-Igbafe is a graduate of Business Administration from the University of Lagos, Akoka. She has almost 15 certifications. A Microsoft Certified Trainer, Data Analyst, Professional Scrum Master, Certified Business Analyst, Professional Digital marketing and leading Agile Digital Transformation campaign and implementation for my clients and students.[8] Her 5 years in Tech with proficiency in Business Analysis, Project Manager and Digital Marketing and a Microsoft Certified Trainer, Professional Scrum Master with Diploma as Digital Marketing Professional.[9] As the founder of LEARNTOR, she has digitally upskilled and reskilled over 2,200 Nigerians.[10]

Mercy George-Igbafe[11] is an entrepreneur and tech evangelist. She's an educator in Agile, Scrum[12], Kanban, Data Analytics, Business Analysis, Digital Marketing with over 25 years of expertise across the various sectors.[13]
Learntor[edit]
LEARNTOR is registered in Nigeria, United Kingdom and United States as a forward thinking and global tech contributor with $5,000 grant from Tony Elumelu Foundation[14][15] $3,000 from Womenpreneur supported by IFC and $10,000 grant from, Seedstar[16][17][18] LEARNTOR[19] is a Tech as a Service organisation focused on development of Tech Talent for Africa to mitigate the high rate of unemployment and employability problems whilst bridging the digital skills gap and advocating Agile best practice and principles. The company vision aligns with UN MDG goals (4, 5 & 8) Quality education, gender equality and decent work and economic growth.[20][21] Learntor has international partnership with Scrum.org, listed as a member of the Professional Training Network with our clients ranging from the public to private sector like Lagos State Ministry of Arts & Culture, Association of Movie Producers, Directors Guild of Nigeria, Women in Management and Business.[4][22] Supported by Ecobank Nigeria, Agile Alliance, Red Tangerine and Seedstar.[23][24]
International projects[edit]
Mercy George-Igbafe is an executive board member for Women in Agile (USA) for Diversity and Inclusion (DEI) and the convener of Women in Agile Africa organsing the first-ever most inclusive African Agile conference in 3 languages (French, English, and Portuguese), recording 85 speakers from 20 countries and 932 registration, raising sponsorship of nearly $7,000.[25] Mercy George-Igbafe's traction[26] earned her an appointment in 2019 – 2020 as a member of the board of trustee for Agile20Reflect in to celebrating 20 years of the Agile manifesto. She led a team of 17 Nigerian Agilist to re-enact the Agile Manifesto Theme: Agile for good governance in Nigeria.[27]
