Plot
The film begins 15 years earlier. Deep, a 15-year-old boy living in the village of Sheron, falls in love with Simran, a 15-year-old girl living in Namol. He plays in a cricket tournament in Ubhawal. He lives with his mother, father, grandparents, and uncle and aunt. Unfortunately, Simran's brother is accidentally killed by Deep. Police search for Deep throughout Sangrur district. His father and he flee to Vancouver out of fear.
After 6 years, Deep's father has built a successful business in British Columbia. He has become a wealthy Punjabi man in Canada. Deep (Ravikiran Khangura) has matured and studied at the University of British Columbia. He falls in love with a French girl named Emma (Emma Watson). Simran (Arshjot Kaur) has also matured and is living a happy life with her brother and father. Deep receives an invitation to his friend's wedding, and Simran also receives an invitation. They meet at the wedding. Deep recognizes Simran and falls in love with her again. Simran also realizes that she loves him. She tells Deep that she loves him.
Three days later, she invites him to her brother Harman's (Barun Sobti) birthday. He accepts. At the birthday party, he and Simran are caught in a car together. Harman believes Deep is gang-raping his sister. Harman and his allies brutally beat Deep. Simran's father shoots Deep, but Deep's friend (Naman Katoch) is shot dead by Shamsher Singh (Yograj Singh), Simran's father, while saving Deep.
After Deep is beaten and his friend is killed, Simran's engagement is arranged with Samar (Ammy Virk). She and Deep plan to escape the village. However, Simran's brother has Deep arrested at the Sangrur Bus Stand. Deep is brutally beaten by the police. Simran successfully frees Deep, and they steal her brother's car, fleeing to Mussorie. Nirmal Singh (Jaswinder Bhalla) helps them find shelter in his home.
A week later, Harman finds them in Mussorie. He shoots Nirmal Singh and has Deep arrested by the police, but near Sheron, they escape during a rice straw fire. He arrives home, and his uncle reveals that Harman killed his grandfather. They plan to move to Salt Lake City in the United States, flying from Chandigarh.
Upon arriving in Salt Lake City, they meet an Indian-Punjabi woman named Kiranjeet Kaur (Kirron Kher) and live in her home. After Deep secures a job as an Architect and Simran a job as a Teacher, they build a house and get married. They live happily. A month later, Harman finds them in Salt Lake City and tries to kill them.
One day, their house catches fire. Simran remains inside after Deep leaves for work. Deep returns to find Simran. He finds and rescues her. Harman and her father apologize for their mistakes and arrange for their wedding in Punjab.
Five months later, Simran is pregnant and goes shopping in Salt Lake City. A drunk truck driver nearly hits Simran. Deep saves Simran, but he dies. Four years later, Simran opens a school in Leh and tells her love story to her students.
