Meredith Marks[edit]

Meredith Marks (born December 15, 1971) is an American award-winning jewelry designer, socialite, businesswoman, and model based in Chicago, Illinois; Los Angeles, California; New York City, New York; and Park City, Utah.[1][2][3] She designed the Reid Ring worn by Rihanna to the Home movie premiere in 2015.[4]

Biography[edit]

Marks was raised in Chicago, Illinois while frequenting Beverly Hills and Aspen with her family.[1] She studied law at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and business at Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management during graduate school.[5][1] After earning her business and law degrees, she actively practiced law before deciding she wanted to create a heath club.[2][5] Marks opened and managed the first pilates studio in Chicago. Subsequently, she constructed a highly successful real estate development company, but left the industry after hearing a contractor was prosecuted for physically abusing his girlfriend, "I did not want to do business with men who beat women. I sold everything and got out of those businesses."[5] Afterwards, she studied at the Gemological Institute of America and began her jewelry business in 2009 amidst the recession, while working as a model, wife, and mother to three (3) children.[1][2][5] In 2019, Marks opened Meredith Marks Park City, a collective boutique in Park City, Utah.[5]

Designs[edit]

Meredith Marks's passion for jewelry began in childhood as she admired her Great Grandmother’s collection that she obtained from world traveling. Marks's favorite stone was a deep-colored 40-carat aquamarine that her Great Grandmother set as a cocktail ring lined with diamonds. The American Gemological Society displayed the piece in their windows.[2] This later served as artistic inspiration for Marks to create multi-functional and versatile pieces in her own collection.[5][2]

Meredith Marks jewelry is a celebrity-favorite. Her clientele include Rihanna, Adriana Lima, Chelsea Handler, Courteney Cox, Gabrielle Union, Charlize Theron, Gwenyth Paltrow, Tina Fey, amongst other high-profile individuals.[4][5] Marks's jewelry designs have been featured in publications such as Vogue, The Oprah Magazine, Cosmopolitan, and W Magazine.[6]

Marks's jewelry is most notable for its diamond and gold quality, versatility, and multi-functionality; an earring may quadruple as a pendant, ring, and cuff. She is inspired by her surroundings; the Sistine Collection was designed after Meredith visited the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City.[1][5] In addition to jewelry, Meredith Marks releases apparel, handbags, and other accessories.[7]

Meredith Marks jewelry is available internationally at Neiman Marcus, Meredith Marks Park City, selective boutiques worldwide, and on her website.[5][8]
