Merge4 (stylized all caps) is an American sock company founded in 2016, headquartered in Santa Cruz, California. The company focuses on high quality performance socks featuring art and graphics from collaborators across action sports, art, photography and music industries.
History[edit]
MERGE4 was founded by Cindi Busenhart. Busenhart partnered with Santa Cruz Bicycles founder, Rob Roskopp, professional skateboarder, Keith Meek, and restaurateur, Gigli Locatelli to launch MERGE4. The company began shipping product in 2017 and is now sold throughout the US, Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
In February, 2017, MERGE4 became a certified B Corporation[1]. The company was added to B Corporation's 2018 Best For The World list for the Governance and Community categories.
On Friday, July 26th 2019, Rajan Zed, president of the Universal Society of Hinduism in Reno, Nevada, issued a worldwide press release requesting a formal apology from MERGE4's CEO and a recall of two sock designs featuring the Hindu god, Ganesh. Within hours of the press release, MERGE4 removed the socks and issued a formal apology to the Hindu community[2].
In January of 2020, Guy Kawasaki joined MERGE4 as an official brand ambassador[3].
