Merin Philip is an Indian actress in the Malayalam film industry. Merin Philip made her acting debut with the film Poomaram directed by Abrid Shine .[2][3] [4][5]
Personal life
Merin was born in Pathanamthitta district. Her native place is Kollam district. Philip C Mathew, an engineer, and Daisy Philip are her parents. She has an elder brother named Melvyn Philip Mathew. She did her schooling from St John's School, Anchal, Kollam district, then moved to Abu Dhabi and completed her schooling in Sunrise English Private School, Abu Dhabi, from 3rd to 12th standard. She is trained in singing and dancing. For graduation, she moved to Kerala and completed her degree at Gregorian College of Advanced Studies, Trivandrum. She is currently pursuing her post graduation at Press Club, Trivandrum.
Career
She was brought forward to the field of drama by Biju Kizhakkanela. She started doing drama from the age of 14. She performed in *Shabdavum Velichavum* under Babu Annur’s direction, *Nagamandala* under Suveeran, and *Njayarazcha* under James Elia. Then, she trained under Rajeev for *Kadhaprasangam*. During 2016, she auditioned for *Poomaram* and got a supporting role in the Malayalam film Poomaram as a friend of Irene. Then, in 2018, she auditioned for *Happy Sardar* and got the main lead role.
