The Metal Tour Of The Year is an upcoming concert tour by heavy metal bands Megadeth and Lamb of God in support of the bands' self-titled studio album and Megadeth's upcoming sixteenth studio album. The tour was announced as an upcoming summer tour on February 10, 2020, on the band's Twitter page.[1] Along with this, fellow heavy metal bands In Flames and Trivium will be serving as co-headlining guests for the tour. When asked if the tour would be canceled or rescheduled due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic in which many artists rescheduled or canceled tours dates[2], Megadeth bassist David Ellefson confirmed that the tour is "still going in motion" but it is unknown yet if dates are rescheduled[3], despite many of the venues either cancelling or rescheduling dates to 2021.
