Meus Momentos is a melodic progressive rock band from Sousa-PB, Brazil. The band was formed in 2009 by guitarist, arranger and composer Washington Benicio Gonçalves Vieira, the formation varied widely over time; Currently the group has five members.
The group became known after releasing their first album, Abordo.
Meus Momentos became popular in the Sousa city after a few presentations made in the city, the group recorded several demos in the year of foundation, promising to release the first album in 2009, however, it was only in 2014 that the group provides the first album, Abordo, downloadable via a social networking site. With the launch of the first clip the single Abordo, the group gained more prominence in the state's interior. After providing the first album, Washington confirms the second album, O Inalcançável, foreseen for early 2016 which has for the first time, songs composed by all current members of the band. Washington also confirms the possible entry of the accordionist and keyboardist Neto, musician of the same city.

After playing guitar in various bands with college friends, Washington Benicio decided to create his own project in 2009, that would produce melancholy music. he called two former schoolmates, the guitarist Georgines Matheus and the singer Amanda, a year later with the departure of Amanda and the entrance of the singer Pythagoras, the band goes through some changes for the songs be sung by a male vocal. Without songs ready, the group recorded some songs from other bands, that were discarded for not being of his own authorship.
Washington noted that the songs did not fit with male voice, then the band began to experiment with female vocals after the departure of Pitágoras.
Later the group hired bassist Anderson Carlos, drummer Petrucio Calixto and the Emanuella Monik vocalist. With this line, Washington deepened the idea of the first album, promised in the year of the formation of the band and launched the clip single Abordo - acoustic version. Later the band hired a guitarist to deepen the weight and melancholy songs, Petrônio Lucena. With of Petrônio input and heavy vocal booster of Petrucio, Washington finally decides to record the album Abordo, promised in 2009.
Compositions and style[edit]
Author of most songs of the group, Washington Benicio said he is strongly influenced by dreams, fears, films like Pirates of the Caribbean and Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet street of Tim Burton,[1] bands Engenheiros do Hawaii[2] and Nightwish and some personal experiences. In your social network, Washington says the song ABORDO was influenced by a dream he had about boats, trees and watches, where the clock ruled our lives, the trees told sad stories and the boats took us to several horror movies. Also had strong influence of MAPAS DO ACASO music of Humberto Gessinger, which speaks of candles and Anchors. The single had a lot of attention among fans of the band, one of the favorite songs of Washington, Abordo won a continuation on the first disk; ABORDO PARTE 2 (Abordo Part 2).
The style of Meus Momentos as a whole is a mixture of sad songs, dark and fanciful with roots in the Gothic style. The group always tries to cause a feeling of fantasy in their songs
