Musical career
Guisse[2] began her music career as part of the Maabo duo,[3] which she formed with her then-husband.[4] They released their first album, "Moo Dëkk,[5]" in 2011, which was well received and helped to establish their presence in the Senegalese music scene.
After the couple's divorce, Guisse[6] continued to pursue music as a solo artist. She released her debut single in 2023 under the Sen Pop Music label, which received positive reviews[7] and helped to establish her as a solo artist. She has since released several more singles, including "La vie est belle,[8]" "IDDA,[9]" "GLP, Gën leen paré,[10]" which have also been well received.
Guisse's[11] music is characterized by her powerful vocals, emotive lyrics, and catchy beats. She draws inspiration from her West African roots, as well as contemporary pop and R&B music. Her music often addresses themes of love, empowerment, and social justice.
In addition to her music career, Guisse is also an advocate for gender equality and women's rights. She has spoken out about the importance of empowering women and promoting equality in Senegal and beyond.
