Miangul Mahmud Aurangzeb (Urdu: ميانگل محمود اورنگزيب) is known for his skills in thyroid and cancer surgery.[1]
Education and career[edit]
Aurangzeb completed his medical surgery training in the United Kingdom.[1] He specializes in laparoscopic surgery and has performed over 6,000 such procedures. He is also the president of the Pakistan chapter of the Society of Laparoscopic and Endoscopic Surgery and a distinguished life member of the World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons.[2][3]
In June 2020, Dr. Miangul Mahmud Aurangzeb was appointed to be the Dean of Khyber Medical College which is part of the larger Khyber Medical University, a major recognized university in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.[1][3][4]
Aurangzeb is the paternal grandson of the former Wāli of Swat Miangul Jahan Zeb, and the maternal grandson of Mohammad Ayub Khan, a former President of Pakistan. His father, Miangul Aurangzeb, was the governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.[3]
