Early Life[edit]
Michael Bassey Johnson was born on April 20, 1994, in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, the last child of his parents. His mother, Helen, died when he was nine years of age, leaving him to the care of his father and other elder siblings. As a teenager, Michael showed a keen interest in everything concerning Arts, Philosophy, and Spirituality.
He had difficulties in his early adolescent years, having to live and shuttle between sibling’s and friend’s house. He developed a stutter as a child, and that had a negative impact on his interactions with friends and family.
As a child, he was interested in drawing, paper craft, and insect collecting. He aspired to be a great artist like Leonardo Da Vinci before discovering writing.
Career[edit]
Michael Bassey Johnson started writing in his late teens when he discovered the works of Charles Dickens, Jonathan Swift, and Jean Baptiste Poquelin (Molière), the French playwright.
He dedicated his life early to the pursuit of knowledge, and was marked as a curious kid with the habit of pulling out books from his father’s private shelf. He started out as a virtual writer, and wrote and submitted short stories, plays and poems to virtual literary platforms. His first play, titled Scars of Beauty is a mild satire that dramatizes hypocrisy in Christendom.
His extant works are replete with spiritual and uplifting themes. Examples are his latest works, titled, Song of a Nature Lover and The Oneironaut’s Diary.

Michael attended Presbyterian nursery International schools and Government Technical College, Ewet.
After graduating from high school, he enrolled in Mindset Computer Academy (MCA), for a six-month training course in Data Processing, and graduated with a Diploma in Computer Science. Afterwards, he was admitted into the university to study English and Literature. He graduated in 2019 with a B.A in English and Literary Studies.
Organizations[edit]
In January 2015, Michael co-founded and joined an event ushering firm, Mirabeeque Ovations, and served two roles. One as a public relations officer, and the other as a professional event usher. In 2021, Michael started his photography/videography career, Kurious Observer.
