Michael Chobanian (ukr. Чобанян Михайло Геннадійович, born November 23, 1983) is a Ukrainian businessman involved in IT, finance, crypto-currency and blockchains. He is the founder of the first public crypto exchange in Ukraine and president of the Blockchain Association of Ukraine.

Career[edit]

From 2005-2009, he was Director of Strategic Development in the International Telecommunication Company (ITC, CDMA UKRAINE).[citation needed] In 2011, he founded the consulting company INLIGHT.[citation needed] In 2014, he founded the first bitcoin-agency in Eastern Europe and Ukraine, the Kuna Bitcoin Agency.[1]

In 2015 Chobanian founded the first public Ukrainian crypto exchange, KUNA.io.[2][3]

Legal conflict[edit]

On November 3, 2015, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine searched the house of Michael Chobanyan.In the judicial definition, which governed law enforcement, it was said that on the resources of Michael Chobanyan - kuna.com.ua and kuna.io - "users are given the opportunity to buy, enter / withdraw (electronic money) Bitcoin crypto currency, the rules of issuance of which are not coordinated with the National bank of Ukraine, which in turn violates the procedure for using money in the territory of Ukraine".[4][5][6]
