Michael Coburn, (born 8 October 1985 in Dundalk, Ireland) is an Irish former footballer who played as a defender.

Career[edit]

Coburn began his senior football career with hometown club Dundalk in 2003. He made his debut for the Lilywhites under manager Trevor Anderson that season at the age of 17. He made 26 appearances for Dundalk until mid-2004 when Coburn left the club to take up a 4-year scholarship in the US at the University of Memphis. Coburn played four years of college soccer in Memphis, scoring six goals in 54 appearances, and also played in the USL Premier Development League for the Cape Cod Crusaders.[1]

Coburn returned to Ireland following his 4-year tenure with Memphis and re-joined Dundalk for their 2009 Premier Division campaign. In 2009 Coburn made 23 league and cup appearances for Dundalk and helped them to a 4th place league finish which secured qualification to the UEFA Europa League for the Lilywhites. Coburn parted ways with Dundalk at the end of the 2009 season and following a brief spell without a club he signed for First Division Shelbourne on 25 March 2010.[2]
