Michael Gallagher (anthropologist)

Michael Gallagher has worked for the Fortescue Metals Group as an anthropologist.

In 1971 he graduated from University of Western Australia in economics.

In 1979-1980 he worked as a photographer for the Kimberley Land Council and the Yungngora Community at Noonkanbah. [1]

In 1989, with Steven Hawke, son of former Primer Minister Bob Hawke, he wrote a book about the Amax Exploration and Charles Court Government interference with aboriginal land rights at Nookanbah [2]

He completed his Honours degree at Murdoch University about the Canning Stock Route.[3]

In 1996 he prepared a report concerning coastal aboriginals [4]

He has also worked in the Western Desert Working Group [5]

In 2011, he is seen working with FMG in activity with aboriginal claimants to native title at the Solomon Hub controversy [6]
