Michael Greve is a German entrepreneur and philanthropist.[1] He and his brother Matthias Greve founded Cinetic Medientechnik GmbH, which also gave rise to the web portal Web.de. Michael Greve is considered one of the most successful German tech entrepreneurs.[2] Today, he finances and operates the non-profit Forever Healthy Foundation and the venture capital company Kizoo in Karlsruhe.

Career[edit]

In 1987 he founded his first company, Cinetic Medientechnik, with his brother Matthias Greve.[3][2]

In 1995, they founded the internet directory and portal web.de.[4] In 2000, they took web.de public on the german stock market.[5]

After selling his companies in 2005, Greve wanted to merge mail, SMS and telephone into a single application with his new startup Combots AG.[6]

In 2007, he created and funded the early-stage venture capital company Kizoo Technology Ventures, with which he financed and mentored startups in the IT sector, including the later "Unicorns" Babbel,[7] Staffbase, and Mambu.[7][1]

Non-profit activity[edit]

To recover from the effects of his own unhealthy lifestyle, Greve began exploring the field of health and longevity.[1] In 2015, he created and funded a non-profit initiative, the Forever Healthy Foundation. The foundation has the goal of enabling people to significantly extend their healthy lifespan. Through the foundation, he also funds research in the longevity and rejuvenation fields.[1][8]

In 2016 he changed the focus of Kizoo to finance biotech statups working on therapies that extend the healthy human lifespan [7][1] and he committed $10 Million to SENS Research Foundation and startups focused on rejuvenation biotechnology treatments.[9][8]

In 2021 Michael Greve pledged another €300 million for rejuvenation biotechnology startup companies.[10][11]
