Michael J. Masch is a former Pennsylvania Secretary of the Budget.[1]
He was appointed in 2003.[1]
He also served as Secretary of Administration 2004–2005.[1]
He resigned his Commonwealth position in 2008.[2]
Prior to his service as Pennsylvania budget secretary, Mr. Masch served as vice president for budget and management at the University of Pennsylvania from 1996 to 2002.[3]
Mr. Masch also served as a member of the Philadelphia Board of Education and chair of its finance committee in 2000 and 2001. He was then appointed in 2002 as one of the inaugural members of the Philadelphia School Reform Commission, which replaced the Board of Education, by Pennsylvania Governor Mark Schweiker and Philadelphia Mayor John Street.[4]
Mr. Masch served as Budget Director for the City of Philadelphia prior to moving to the University of Pennsylvania in 1996.[citation needed]
From 2008 to 2012, Mr. Masch served as the Chief Business Officer of the School District of Philadelphia.[5]
In 2013, Mr. Masch was appointed Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer at Manhattan College in New York City.[6]
In 2015, Mr. Masch was appointed as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer at Howard University in Washington, D.C.[7]
Mr. Masch is a fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration, appointed in 2007.[8][9]
Mr. Masch is a graduate of Penn's Fels Institute of Government and a former adjunct faculty member at Fels.[10]
