Michael McPartland (quizzer)

Michael McPartland (born 8 July 1978) from Middlesbrough is a British quizzer and civil servant who has won several titles in quizzing. A member of the team that won 2015's Punch Taverns/Carling Great British Pub Quiz, he followed up this success with individual victory in the LightSpeed Quiz series in the same year.[1] He plays in the Wearside Quiz League where, also in 2015, he won the League, Cup and Pairs treble. He is a regular participant at Quiz In The North events.[2]

In 2014 he finished 3rd in Mastermind, behind fellow Teessider Clive Dunning.[3] This achievement led to quiz hosting gigs.[4]

In 2018 he appeared on a Only Connect special as a member of the Footballers, against the Korfballers, having appeared on the show several years earlier. [5]

In 2020 he won £64,000 on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.
