Michael Nathan
Michael Nathan Canlapan Ynchausti, better known as Michael Nathan, (born January 30, 1997) is a Filipino American singer, rapper, songwriter, and music producer from San Jose, California. Influenced by his upbringing in the Bay Area and Filipino Culture[1], his music ranges from being about every day life and relationships to his own experience as an immigrant in the United States through the lens of cultural duality.

Personal life[edit]
Michael Nathan was born in Quezon City, Philippines[2]. At the age of three, he and his family immigrated to the United States and settled in the Bay Area. Michael Nathan graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a degree in Commercial Music, Vocal Performance.
Music career[edit]
Michael Nathan released his first EP in 2016 titled 3AM. This EP included singles "3AM" and "Every Day" This was the first project he released in his hometown. After moving to Los Angeles, California to pursue an education and career in music, he released his second EP in 2017 titled 16//17. This project showed more of his Hip Hop influences and showed the beginning of his own work in producing and beat making. Michael Nathan has also released music videos for singles such as "Super 8" and "Hanzo." Michael Nathan has been featured on music blogs such as Heavy Rotation[3], Banger of the Day[4], and Elite Muzik. He also performed on a radio livestream by Wish 107.5.[5] After releasing these projects, Michael Nathan is set release his debut album The Web in late 2020.

Michael Nathan describes his style as influenced by 90's and 2000's R&B, Hip Hop and Trap. He is influenced by artists and producers such as Nas, Brian McKnight, Nujabes, and J Dilla.[1]
