Microchip Is The Mark Of The Beast Theory is a theory and trend that emerged in recent years, claiming that a microchip will be mandatory for all buying and selling and that Christians should avoid it at all costs.
History
In 1978 Saint Paisios told a church follower that in the future a microchip would be implanted in people for all buying and selling and that before the microchip, a mandatory biometric ID would be required in Greece in the following years.[citation needed]
Following this, many preachers in Greece began preaching that a Biometric ID and a microchip would be mandatory in the future and that Christians should avoid them at all costs. In 1983, Father Nektarios Moulatsiotis wrote a book about the Biometric ID and the mark of the beast, which became very popular in Greece, though most people ignored its message. [1]
From 1998 to 2006, Moulatsiotis formed a rock band called "Paparokades". He was in the band along with two other monks, and they sang songs about the microchip and the mark of the beast, becoming very popular at the time. The band attracted more people to visit the monastery where Moulatsiotis was stationed. [2] One of the monks left the band in 2006 and became a rock singer in another band.
Sweden's popularity of chipping received many negative reactions from people in the United States, who viewed the chip as the mark of the beast. [3] In 2015, a street preacher named Pater Kleomenis appeared in Greece and formed a resistance team against the mark of the beast. [4]
Even today, people in Greece are resisting the Biometric ID. The coronavirus vaccine is also seen as the mark of the beast, and the Infrared thermometer is also seen as the mark in the forehead by some people. In 2020, most of the songs made by Moulatsiotis were remastered by Vasileios Diagoumas.
Moulatsiotis said in one of his interviews in 1995 that "In the future, a mark will most likely be created, it will be a chip, a biometric ID, or a scanner in the forehead". [5] Judging from what Moulatsiotis said, his predictions were likely correct.
