MEAB, Middle East and Africa Bank, s.a.l, was founded in 1991 as a commercial bank, headquartered in Beirut, Lebanon that offers retail Banking, SME & commercial Banking. In 2018, MEAB underwent a rebranding after the appointment of the new CEO Ali Hejeij[1] and focused on offering a multitude of services crafted to the news of their specific clientele.

The bank has a network of 18 branches throughout Lebanon with 29 ATMs and 2 branches in Iraq[2] [3] with more than 350 employees[4] and serving over 11000 satisfied customers. MEAB began with a Lebanese Lira 12 billion portfolio but has expanded exponentially to a portfolio worth Lebanese Lira 156 billion. Since 2009, the bank’s deposits have grown each year by 35-40 percent and was ranked in 2018 as the eighteenth largest bank by deposits among all the active banks in Lebanon.

In 2011, Banker Middle East awards named the Middle East and Africa Bank as the “Fastest Growing Bank in Lebanon”. The World Finance Banking Awards named MEAB bank “Best Private Bank in Lebanon” in 2012 and “Best Retail Bank in Lebanon” in 2015.[10] [11] . MEAB was awarded the best digital banking award, 2019 in Best Mobile Apps category. [12]
