Michael Guy (born November 15, 1994), professionally known as Mike $antana, is an American record producer, DJ, audio engineer, and on-air personality from The Bronx, New York. Mike is best known for producing instrumentals for rappers across the hip hop industry such as Joey 900, O Billz, Slim K, Butch Dawson, DeWolph, and Di-Meh.
Early life
Mike $antana was born in the Bronx, and moved to Staten Island at age 5. After the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center, he moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina. His attraction to music started in middle school band class and culminated when, after three years of playing the flute, he decided he didn't like band class anymore. When Kanye West dropped the short film for Runaway in 2010, Mike was inspired to make music by the scene in which Kanye plays the beat for Power on his Akai MPC2000XL.[1]
Career
In 2014, Mike realized his talents and reached out to his music making friends to create a hilarious song called "Ratchet Function". Mike stayed in Fayetteville, until he realized North Carolina had nothing for him creatively, so he decided to move back to the Bronx, and from then, he met Joey 900, O Billz, and Kenny H; and released The Yellowtape. Currently, Mike $antana is working on an EP entitled PLACES, set to drop in late 2016.
