Mike Conyers (born 31 December 1951) is a Scottish businessman and entrepreneur from Glasgow.[1]

Conyers is the founder and CEO of ResDiary, an online restaurant booking system that started in Glasgow, Scotland in September 2006.[2][3]

Early life and education[edit]

From 1960 to 1968 he attended Hutchesons' Grammar School. He graduated in 1973 from ICAS as a CA in Accountancy having previously studied at the University of Glasgow where he attained a B.Acc in Accountancy.[4]

Career[edit]

Starting out in 1982 with Lautrec’s Wine Bar, he established a successful wine bar and brasserie.[5]

During 1996 Conyers was responsible for the green field development of a fine dining restaurant known as 78 St.Vincent, where he managed the conversion of a “Chicago Style” banking hall in the Glasgow City Centre.[5][1]

In August 1998 he went on to develop a chain of seven Scottish-based restaurants with an Italian theme, known as Leonardo & Company, initiating the project in Glasgow.[5]

He envisaged a web application which could be used internally to help control and manage advance reservations, table management and customer management. He began working with a team of developers in 2006 in order to create the online services. ResDiary currently books over 10.2 million diners every month in 62 countries.[6]

In 2016 Mike celebrated ResDiary's 10th anniversary with a pledge to double its overseas workforce by March 2018.
