Mike Ryan is a real estate developer, entrepreneur, and sailor.[1] He is the founder and principal of Silverfin Development Company, a real estate development company based in the Cayman Islands.[2][3][4]

Career[edit]

Mike is the original owner and developer of The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman, a luxury Resort located on Seven Mile Beach, Grand Cayman.[5] The Resort has received awards, including the Best Luxury Family Resort in the World in 2009 by Luxury Travel Advisor[6] and the #1 resort in the Caribbean for three consecutive years by Condé Nast Traveler.[7][8][9]

Mike began his sailing career when he fixed up an old Optimist he found in the woods of Georgian Bay to compete in a regatta when he was seven years old and culminated with his trip around the world in 2007/8 with his family, which won the Super Yacht Voyager' award in 2010.[10][11][12]

Mike also developed The Residences, DeckHouses, and Exclusive Island at The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman Resort, Lloyds Chambers in London, Cacique del Mar in Costa Rica, and FIN Grand Cayman.[13][14]
