Michael Anthony Young II (born June 18, 1992) is an American actor, writer, and producer. He is known for his roles in the television series NCIS: New Orleans, the feature film Semper Fi, and Final Call. Young is a native of Bush, Louisiana, and is the youngest of two children. He owns a small business and enjoys working on vehicles and spending time with his family. He has always been inspired by feature films and TV series. His favorite actors include Keanu Reeves and Jason Statham.
Early life
Young was born in Covington, Louisiana at Highland Park Hospital, now known as Lakeview Regional Medical Center, in 1992 to Doris Elizabeth Young and Michael Anthony Young, both of whom work as glaziers.
Young was raised in Bush, Louisiana with his older sister, Elizabeth. He attended Destrehan High School in Destrehan, Louisiana, the same school that actress and model Shelley Hennig attended.
Young is also the cousin of country singer and songwriter Chris Young.
Career
He has always been interested in becoming an actor, but due to his location, he was not able to pursue a career in acting. When acting work began coming closer to his home, he was given the opportunity to pursue his dream career. Although not many people supported his decision to become an actor, except his close relatives and family, it only motivated him to work harder. After being turned down by many film auditions, he did not let that discourage him and continued working towards landing a significant role. In 2017, Young worked as a background actor for several roles before being cast for a featured role as FBI SWAT Agent Baker on the hit show NCIS: New Orleans, which gave him his big break into the film industry. He has since appeared in other films and television shows.
In 2018, Young wrote his first Screenplay for the TV series Final Call.[1][2] alongside his friend Justin Havard, who helped co-write it. It is currently rumored to have a 2020 release date and is said to be produced by Catahoula Cadre Films. Young will also star in the lead role as John Davis in the TV series.
Young has also appeared in a short film for the New Orleans 48 Hour Film Project called "Will Power"[3][4] produced by "Warren World Productions"[5]
He also helped to produce the 2018 film Norm of the North 2[6]
While attending the 90th Annual Oscars Ceremony, Young was hand-picked by Jimmy Kimmel to announce presenters Tiffany Haddish and Maya Rudolph to the Oscars stage.[7][8]
