Michael Foceri Capra (born June 17, 1997), known by his stage name Mikey See, is an American pop artist born in Smithtown, New York, New York.
Biography[edit]
Early life[edit]
Mikey See was raised in Long Island, New York City.[1] During his early adolescent years, he concentrated on his music career in collaboration with producers Donnie Klang and Glenn Travis.[2] He is a professional singer-songwriter registered with Broadcast Music, Inc.[3]
Career[edit]
Capra chose the name "Mikey See" as an allusion to his catch phrase, Mikey See, Mikey Do Baby.[1] His first single "Love My Body" off of his self-titled debut EP was released in 2018.[2][4]
His single "Push You Away" released in 2019 garnished significant air time on WBLI[5] while “EastWest Funk” was on rotation on WPTY the same year.[6] In early 2020, he was interviewed live on the radio show Shade 45 for Sirius XM about his single "Cant Let Go" featuring BellaB and NizzleMan.
I would have to say my most memorable moment to date is stepping onto the stage in Sao Paulo, Brazil last October. I was opening for Akon in front of more than 50,000 people at the legendary Canindé Stadium.[3]
Legal trials[edit]
In February 2020, Mikey See filed a Copyright infringement lawsuit against the music duo Tribe Mafia in New York Supreme Court for unlawfully distributing his music for Cant Let Go, Far Away and Watch Out through TuneCore on platforms such as Spotify, YouTube and Apple Music. The case is currently heard in Nassau County, New York.[7] Mikey See's latest single Cant Let Go, which is the subject of the Copyright infringement case, is on rotation at 105.5FM The Beat, syndicated nationally.
Personal life[edit]
Mikey See resides in New York City and Los Angeles, California. He is an advocate for anti-bullying and educates people on the "Stop, Drop and Roll" effects of bullying. He was homeschooled for a majority of his childhood after he had been bullied himself for being gay.[8]
