Mikhail Lomtadze (born October 17, 1975) is a businessman, investor, chairman of the board of Kaspi.kz and the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Kolesa Group in Kazakhstan.[1][2][3][4][5]
He is the third richest person in Kazakhstan with an estimated worth of $ 3,9 bln according to Forbes.[6] In 2021, he was included into the top 1000 (956th rank) in the global Forbes list of billionaires.[7][8]

Mikhail Lomtadze was born October 17, 1975, in Georgia. In 1997, he received a bachelor degree of Business Administration from European School of Management (Georgia).[9]
In 2002, Lomtadze received MBA at Harvard Business School.[10]
In 2002 — 2004, he worked as an Investment Manager to Baring Vostok Capital Partners.[11]
In 2003 — 2005, he headed the Russian Venture Capital Association.[12]
n 2003 — 2006, Lomtadze worked as the Europlan chairman of the board.[13][14]
In 2004 — 2016, he was a partner at Baring Vostok Capital Partners and managed investments into Europlan, Center for Financial Technologies and Kaspiyskiy Bank.[15]
Business[edit]
Since May 29, 2006, Lomtadze has been a member of the board of directors of JSC Kaspi Bank.[16]
In 2007 — 2018, he held the position of chairman of the Management Board of Kaspi Bank.[17]
Since 2018, Mikheil Lomtadze has been a shareholder and chairman of the board of joint-stock company Kaspi.kz which combines services for individuals and retail organizations.[18][19][20]
In 2018, Lomtadze presented new services of Kaspi.kz.[21]
In October 2020, Kaspi.kz was listed on the London Stock Exchange in an IPO which became the second largest IPO of 2020 year in Europe.[22][23][24]
According to Bloomberg, in January 2022, he lost 30% of value due to Kazakh 2022 unrest.[25]
Awards[edit]
In 2014, he was awarded by the government of Kazakhstan the medal of the Order of Kurmet.[26]
In 2020, he was awarded the People's Gratitude (Halyk Algysy) medal by the President of Kazakhstan for significant contribution to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.[27]
