Mildred Maude is a British noise rock band formed in 2014 in Cornwall. The band consists of Matt Ashdown (guitar), Lee Wade (bass guitar) and Louie Newlands (drums). The band are known for their uncompromising and loud live shows.[1][2] and improvise for the full duration of each performance.
History
The band played their first live shows in 2016, including as an opening act for The Fall. In 2017, the band performed as 'sound carriers' for ex-Can frontman Damo Suzuki. The band released the album CPA I - III in 2018 on the Weird Beard and Moogie Wonderland labels.
Musical Style
The band's style has been labelled as noise-improv[3] and noise rock[4]. Lauren Laverne of BBC Radio 6 Music described their style as "widescreen-y Passions-y psychedelia-y"[5]. The band's style has also been compared to Mogwai, Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine[6]
