Milpias Christian School is a co-educational, non-denominational Christian school serving preschool, elementary school (grades TK/K to 5th), and middle school (grades 6th to 8th). Milpitas Christian School is located on 10 acres (4.0 ha) in San Jose, California.
Founded in 1974 by Judy Morasci, Milpitas Christian School initially opened as a preschool. In 1980, the elementary school was added.[2] Today, the Preschool campus is co-located at Christ Community Church in Milpitas. The Birchwood campus is in North San Jose near Caleveras Blvd. and Piedmond Rd. The school is recognized as a non-profit 501(c)(3) with a NTEE B24[3] classification for elementary and primary schools.
Academics[edit]
Milpitas Christian School is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and Association of Christian Schools International.[4] The average class size is 11.5 students.[1] About 65% of the teachers and administrators hold master's degrees or higher[5]
Science and Technology[edit]
Student-scientists from Milpitas Christian School have competed in Silicon Valley's elite science fair. The Synopsys Championship showcases the achievements of middle and high school students in Santa Clara County, California. The school has been participating in this science fair for 18 years.[6]

During the COVID-19 public health emergency in 2020, Terry H., a student at MCS, used a 3D printer to produce personal protective equipment (PPE). He donated face shields and face mask accessories to community frontline workers at the Milpitas Food Pantry.[11][12]

Student-athletes, in grades 5 to 8, have the opportunity to participate in competitive sports throughout the school year.[13]

Milpitas Christian School began with a vision given to Judy Morasci to create a Christ-centered outpost in Silicon Valley. Under the oversight of the First Presbyterian Church of Milpitas (now Christ Community Church of Milpitas), the new school opened in September 1974 with 60 part-time students and a staff of four. In 2014, MCS celebrated its 40th anniversary with the Mayor of Milpitas, Jose Esteves, and other local dignitaries[15]
