Minal Sampath
Minal Sampath is a systems engineer who worked on India's mission to Mars.[1] She started her career as a Satellite Communications engineer at Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and went on to work for the Space Application Center which played a vital role in the development of the Mars Orbiter Mission, in which she was the only woman working on the project.[2] She received the ISRO Young Scientist Merit Award 2013 for her contribution to the Telemedicine programme.[3] She was a head engineer[4] and a Project Manager for upcoming projects such as Chandrayan II.[5] Sampath is currently Deputy Project Director at ISRO.[6]
Sampath is a gold medalist in electronics and communication engineering from Nirma Institute of Technology and Science, Ahmedabad. Sampath was named one of CNN's 2014 Women of the Year.[7]
