Mindustry is a cross-platform tower defense video game where you build a factory in order to defend your Core (the player's spawn point and resource storage) from waves of enemies. It is free and open-source software licensed under the GNU General Public License version 3.0
The game starts off with the player(s) collecting resources, and defending from the initial wave of enemies using their mech. A large selection of weapons and turrets are provided in the game, with varying Power and Ammo usages, as offensive structures, with Walls made of various in-game materials functioning as defense.
As the game progresses, the difficulty of the enemies increases incrementally, with the type of enemy sent each wave rotating out.
There is a small official community surrounding the game, including a discord server, alongside two official game servers, and multiple third party servers.
Mindustry 3.5 is the current stable version of Mindustry; however there is an active beta version which has a different graphical design and slight game tweaks.
All versions of Mindustry are programmed in Java with the game graphics framework LibGDX.
